Slippery Rock University School of Engineering (SoE) is in the process of forming an Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) for our civil engineering program.

The role of IAB is to assist and advise each engineering program in its efforts to achieve academic excellence through the following activities:

a) Advise on issues related to the educational program, applied research and service activities;

b) Participate in evaluation of strategic goals, plans, and new initiatives of engineering program;

c) Foster mutually beneficial relationships to advance collaboration between engineering program and industry;

d) Advise on curriculum matter to ensure graduates to have a highly employable skill set.

IAB members are typically professionals in industry and/or government who can advise academic programs, and help building future directions for each engineering program. Selection of members is based on the relevance of a particular industry segment to the program and the individual’s professional background and interest in contributing to each program. We are seeking professionals to serve on our IAB with background in structural, geotechnical, transportation, water resources, environmental, and construction management fields. The time commitment to IAB is minimal with two 1.5-hr meetings per year (to the most).  If you are interested, please contact Dr. Steven Wei by email steven.wei@sru.edu.
