History of the Committee:
At the November 2013 section meeting, an official committee dedicated to the topic of sustainability was formally established. While the ASCE Pittsburgh Section has been actively touting the benefits of sustainable design at numerous events at the institutes over the years, an organized and active committee dedicated to these principles had never been formally established. The committee was established to be the primary entity regarding the topic of sustainability at the Pittsburgh Section and represent Pittsburgh at national ASCE sustainability programs and events.
Who can become a member of the committee?
Membership to the committee is open to all interested parties regarding the topic of sustainability. Membership to participate on the committee is free and ASCE membership is not required. ASCE or institute membership is required in order to hold an official voting position on the committee. Official voting positions include: Chair, Vice Chair, and Past Chair.
