Engineer Project Manager 2 - Geotechnical
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), America’s first superhighway, is seeking an individual to join our Design Engineering team as an Engineer Project Manager 2 – Geotechnical! Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. The PTC operates a 552-mile system used by 194 million vehicles a year. The Engineer Project Manager 2 works on semi-complex projects and assists with more complex projects and assignments within the Geotechnical Unit. Together, we are building the highway of the future!
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities include supervision and coordination of geotechnical engineering design and construction projects in accordance with AASHTO, PennDOT and PTC highway design criteria.
- Performs duties requiring the application of engineering principles and practices related to all phases of the location, design and construction of roadways, bridges, buildings or other engineering structures.
- Participates in the development of the scope of work for a project and consultant selection process.
- Coordinates input from various departments within the PTC and other agencies for proper project development.
- Reviews work of contractor to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with major course work in engineering or other related discipline.
- Six (6) years of engineering experience in a transportation environment. Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training may be accepted.

- Possession of a valid Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate may be used to substitute two (2) years of experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
Location
The position is located at the PTC’s Western Regional Office in New Stanton, PA.
There is a Pennsylvania residency requirement, which must be fulfilled within six months of employment.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for the Engineer Project Manager 2 is $62,140-$93,210. The selected candidate will be offered an exceptional benefits package which includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, along with a defined benefit plan for retirement. Coverage is fully paid by the PTC for employee, spouse and/or eligible dependents.
