At sites with problematic soils, the conventional approaches have been removal and replacement or piling. In recent years there has been a proliferation of the use of a wide variety of ground improvement techniques. For this presentation Menard will focus on the use of Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) TM.
In many situations, CMCs offer cost and scheduling advantages over the conventional approaches. CMCs can be used to support warehouses, buildings, material storage piles, processing areas, embankments, fills, roadways, port facilities, storage tanks, containment structures, and platforms.
