The Geo-Institute: Pittsburgh Chapter, Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists, and the Pittsburgh Geological Society are collaborating for the annual Student Night. We are pleased to invite our geo-community to this showcase of local student research to discuss new and exciting developments in our field.

The event will begin with a poster session to showcase the submitted projects. Following the poster session, there will be a series of oral presentations from projects selected by each organization. The presentation lineup is as follows:

The Pittsburgh Geological Society presents:

Variations in Produced Water Chemistry and Relation to Regional Geology and Production in the Marcellus Shale, Northcentral West Virginia by Jonathan M. Brady, West Virginia University.

The American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Institute: Pittsburgh Section presents:

Characterizing the Development of the Subsidence Basin Formed Under the Interstate-70 Alignment over Longwall Mining of the Tunnel Ridge Mine, Washington County, PA by Max Winn, University of Pittsburgh.

The Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists Allegheny-Ohio Section presents:

Landslide Inventory and Bedrock Slope Stability for the North Cove Area, McDowell County, North Carolina by Margaret Kroehler, Kent State University.

Attendance to the event is free of charge and 1.0 PDH is available through this event.
