 LIVE WEBINAR

Energy codes, just like building codes, continue to evolve. While past changes to the energy code usually involved only mechanical engineers, some of the newer codes impact the structural engineer, especially as they relate to the façade.

This presentation will summarize the energy code requirements for opaque walls and highlight areas where structural engineers need to pay attention. It will discuss some of the strategies that architects use to reduce energy use and the impact they have on the structure. Data on thermal bridging will be shown that will help make sense of what is really important.

Bring your stories of unintended consequences when dealing with energy issues.
