Utility conflicts pose one of the greatest obstacles for construction projects. Besides the risk to health and safety of workers and damage to critical infrastructure that can disrupt services to many people, utility conflicts often result in lengthy and costly litigation. This technical seminar will examine how best to coordinate with utilities in advance of construction from the owner’s, designer’s and utility contractor’s perspective.
A distinguished panel of representatives from the American Public Works Association, Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc., the Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association, and the Pittsburgh Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers Pittsburgh Chapter of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute will have a roundtable discussion on utility coordination, best practices, methods for resolving conflicts before litigation and means to minimize costly delay and damage claims.
