The Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair will be held virtually on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2021. 

Please see the information below about the virtual aspects of the fair and how the judging experience will be different from it was in previous years.  

For the first time in its 82-year history, Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair (PRSEF) will be held VIRTUALLY.  No students or judges will be present at the Carnegie Science Center on the day of the event. All judging will take place remotely through video conferencing. The awards ceremony will also take place virtually and will be held on the evening on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

WE NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS.

The requirements for our judges and the schedule for the day will look a little different this year as a result of the virtual format. .

For CATEGORY judges

• A uniform set of information for each project in your category will be provided for you to review prior to judging.  No hard to read boards!  You will need review this material before the day of the fair to prepare for interviews and deliberation. 
• All interviews with students will be conducted over video conference by groups of 2-4 judges.
• Interviews will be pre-scheduled in 15-minute intervals from approximately 8:30AM-12PM. 
• Deliberation to determine the winners will take place, as usual, in the afternoon. This will be done over video conference as well.  You should be done by 2-2:30 as usual.
