Gaetano's Restaurant

There have been many advances over the years in the field of ground improvement using geosynthetics.  From the use of fabrics to reinforce soft soils, or applied as base reinforcement to stiffer soils, geosynthetics are a multi-faceted tool in the geotechnical engineers toolbox.  Recent developments have included the development of fiberglass grids that have applications in roadway repairs that stop cracks in deteriorating roads from propagating.

Mr. David Lipomi is a regional manager at Tensar International Corporation. Mr. Lipomi has Civil Engineering Degree and a Masters of Business Administration from Penn State University. He has developed innovative solutions to difficult soil conditions at numerous sites in the northeast.

Registration is $25 for Pittsburgh Section members, $35 for non-members, and free for students.  Please contact Mr. Shaun Palmer at sjpalmer@GFNET.com or Ms. Stephanie Chechak at schechak@GFNET.com to RSVP by September 20, 2010.
