Meg Cheever, President & CEO
Meg Cheever is the Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and has guided the Conservancy’s strategic vision since the inception in 1996. Cheever serves on the board of Directors of the Conservancy and on the City of Pittsburgh’s Parks Oversight Committee. Under her leadership, the Conservancy has established its award- winning public-private partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, undertaken a comprehensive master plan for the parks system, raised nearly $92 million and completed 14 major capital projects.
Among her honors, Cheever has been named a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania, and in 2016 was awarded the Pennsylvania Parks and Recreation Society’s Fred Coombs Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement. She was named a regional Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in the in the 2015 competition, and has also been the recipient of the Vector’s Person of the Year in Communications Award. The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh honored her three different times, bestowing the Allerton Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Woman of the Year in Communications, and the Woman of the Year in the Environment.
